The 5-year plan, in one page

What we said we'd do, and how — the high-level shape of the plan, not the line items. The full document is linked at the bottom.

Where this plan came from. This is our first strategic plan, built as a dedicated project that ran from 2024 through Q2 2025 and set our five-year direction at the time of the merger. This weekend isn't starting over; it's the first real pressure-test of that plan, now that we have a full year of results to hold it against — what's still true, what's changed, what to retire.

Mission, vision, values

Mission: we connect women, girls, and gender-diverse adventurers with transformative adventure opportunities, advancing gender equity on and off the mountain.

Vision: to be determined we write this one together - live at the retreat!

Values: gender equity · inclusion · safety · growth · advocacy · empowerment.

The whole strategy in three steps

1 · Fund first

Focus on fundraising to build organizational capacity — money before expansion.

2 · Expand thoughtfully

Use that capacity for careful program design and expansion — more scholarships, new offerings.

3 · "Kick ass"

The plan's own words. Grow programming with a focus on quality and efficiency.

How it unfolds over five years

Phase 1
2025–2027
Grow funding
Grow funding; maintain current programs.
We are here
Phase 2
2027
Plan expansion
Research and evaluate new programs and partnerships; build connections.
Phase 3
2028–2029
Launch new programming
Launch new scholarships; begin adding program opportunities.
Phase 4
Beyond 2029
Grow programming
Continue expansion; focus on quality and efficiency.

Where it could land by 2029

Conservative
$330k
raised per year
~25+ scholarships funded
~1.5 full-time staff
High growth
$850k
raised per year
~65+ scholarships funded
~3–4 full-time staff

Both are the plan's 2029 scenarios, starting from the ~$80k combined budget at merger. The "how" beyond fundraising: a professional marketing engine, deeper sponsor relationships, values-aligned partnerships, and real internal governance (board cadence, succession planning, moving admin off the board).

The full plan was produced for us by an MBA student as her capstone project — a generous outside contribution, not something built in-house.
